Experience using twitter

I lost my Twitter virginity two weeks ago and I have to say....I loved it.

I became almost addicted to it checking updates every time I was on a computer. I'm glad I don't have a smart phone or I would have been checking it all day. I am also glad I am following a small amount of people. It's hard enough to keep up with the few people I do follow, and following hundreds of people like sum would be catastrophic to my productivity.

These were the things I liked most about Twitter in no particular order.

1)Getting up to the minute news- As a subscriber to the New York Times and CNN feeds I was privy to news before stories were even written. When the IRS bomber crashed his plane into the building, I was aware of it before most of the TV stations even had reports out and way before news organizations had stories ready. Twitter is a great way to keep in touch with news.

2)Getting a good laugh in- A lot of tweets made me laugh. I love laughing. End of story

3)Following my boss- So I was hired at the Milwaukee Wave a few weeks ago for an internship. My boss is the legendary Peter Wilt who ran the Chicago Fire for over 7 years. He is a hero to me. Well, after I began following him on twitter, he began following me. In fact, he was my first follower. The next day at work, I got on an elevator with him and he proceeded to ask me about soccer, who my team was and so on because of my twitter picture. We talked for a while and I told him my story of my love affair for soccer. Here is a legend spending time to talk to an intern all because of twitter. I have been a believer ever since.

4) MUBB Tickets: I posted on Facebook saying I needed a ticket: no dice. I posted a tweet saying I needed a ticket: score!

That has been my twitter experience. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will continue enjoying it for many more years to come.
